This year, I’m considering myself most content when all my to-do list involves is watching every last one of the best new holiday movies in 2025. (And I’m feeling ambitious—let’s set the deadline to before New Year’s Eve.) While everyone else is attending holiday parties, tackling their winter TBR list, and getting after their Christmas shopping, I’m happily hibernating indoors. You can catch me curled up on the couch of my childhood home, covered in blankets and pressing play again and again to the movies that are sure to give me all the warm and fuzzy feels. Holiday movie night, anyone?

There are new takes on old classics, feel-good holiday movies, and (of course) Christmas-themed rom-coms that’ll make even the Scrooges among us believe in love. Oh. What. Fun.
The magic of the holiday season usually rests squarely on the shoulders of moms everywhere, and Oh. What. Fun. explores what it would be like if one mom clocked out. With a star-studded cast (Michelle Pfeifer, Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary and more!), this film feels like a love letter to frazzled hosts, and unexpected magic that comes when the holidays run off the rails.

Jingle Bell Heist
A heist film with a holiday twist? Say less! If you need a rest from holiday rom-coms, Jingle Bell Heist looks like the perfect antidote. Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells star as a retail worker and a repairman looking to rob a swanky London department store on Christmas Eve. This film doesn’t completely abandon holiday romance, however, since there’s definitely some chemistry between these two.

A Very Jonas Christmas Movie
If you grew up watching the single camera sitcom JONAS on the Disney Channel, or just love the Jonas Brothers—a Jonas Brothers Christmas movie will be music to your ears! The premise couldn’t be simpler (or more delightful, let’s be real) as the boys face hilarious setbacks as they try to get home for the holidays after a concert in London.

Cozy Rom-Coms
A Merry Little Ex-Mas
Alicia Silverstone AND Melissa Joan Hart? Be still my millennial heart! In an effort to pull off one more Christmas with the kids before their divorce, Kate (played by Silverstone) runs into trouble when her ex-husband (Oliver Hudson) brings his new girlfriend (Jameela Jamil) into the fold. Rest assured you can rely on kookie characters, over the top hijinks, and lots of holiday romance!

My Secret Santa
My Secret Santa is giving Mrs. Doubtfire, just in reverse with a holiday twist—I’m here for it! Alexandra Breckenridge plays a single mom who books a job at a luxury ski resort to help pay for her daughter’s snowboard lessons. The twist? The job is playing Santa… dressed as a man. Things get complicated (and hilarious) when she falls for the hotel’s manager and has to keep her identity as the ski lodge’s Santa a secret.

Champagne Problems
Swifties don’t worry, this film isn’t about a very sad train ride after rejecting a marriage proposal (IYKYK). It’s a holiday love story set in Paris! Minka Kelly plays Sydney, an American executive who travels to France to close a deal with a luxurious champagne brand for her company. Turns out the founder’s son is quite dreamy and has a charming French accent, so naturally, a whirlwind romance ensues.

She’s Making A List
Some might say that Lacey Chabert is the Queen of Hallmark Christmas movies, so knowing there’s a new holiday film on the way is quite exciting. Chabert plays Isabel, a top consultant for Santa’s new Naughty and Nice Group—a consulting firm tasked with helping Santa determine his naughty and nice list. Things go awry, however, when Isabel falls for a widowed father with a mischievous daughter.

Christmas Above The Clouds
Who doesn’t love a fresh take on A Christmas Carol? In this version, Ebenezer Scrooge is now Ella Neezer, a workaholic CEO who’s visited by three ghosts via her overnight flight to Australia on Christmas Eve. Scrooge lost his love, Belle, in the classic tale—but this version has an unexpected encounter with Ella’s ex, which leads me to believe she might rekindle this relationship with a dash of Christmas magic.

Joy To The World
Lifestyle guru and cookbook author, Joy Edwards (Emmanuelle Chriqui), presents a picture-perfect life—but her world gets turned upside down when a TV network decides to film a Christmas dinner in her home. Hijinks ensue when she recruits her best friend (Chad Michael Murray) to be her on-screen husband. Perhaps a nod to the 1945 film Christmas in Connecticut, Joy To The World is a quintessential rom-com—a perfect blend of comedy and romance!

Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy
Getting stranded in the middle of a Colorado winter, then being rescued by a man who lives in a cabin without access to the internet could very well be the beginning of a horror movie. However, in Tyler Perry’s very capable hands, it’s also the beginning of a delightful holiday rom-com! Joy (Shannon Thorton) is a down on her luck fashion designer in New York City, who follows her crush to Colorado to spend the holidays with his family. A snow storm leaves her stranded, but her rescuer Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola) leads to love in the most unexpected way.

The Family Plan 2
The Family Plan got a sequel! Mark Wahlberg is back as Dan Morgan—a father and former assassin whose past catches up to him as he vacations with his family in Europe for the holidays. This franchise reminds me a bit of The Incredibles, and Game of Thrones fans will delight in seeing Kit Harington as the bad guy. An action-packed holiday adventure the whole family will love.

Prep and Landing: The Snowball Protocol
It’s been more than a decade since the first Prep and Landing premiered in 2009, and Santa’s elves, Lanny and Wayne are back! This time, the duo are tasked with a holiday mission that goes awry, leaving the elves fearing their boss (Santa Clause, of course) will be disappointed on the most important day of the year.
